WARNING, Honey Bees in Buildings require special consideration for two main reasons:
1) Honey Bees are very productive, and store a large surplus of honey. A strong colony under favorable conditions can store and guard more than 150 lbs. of honey in a single season. Honey can, especially when it gets warm, melt down, stain, and create a large mess below.
2) Honey Bees apply a powerfully attractive indelible pheromone to their hive. This makes a large area around the hive a permanent Honey Bee magnet. Such an area will attract robbing, especially in the late summer and fall, when flowers rarely provide nectar for food. Honey is extremely valuable to bees and can attract them from more than two miles away as the bird flies, especially when it's unguarded During swarm season (spring), when colonies with 15,000 to 70,000 insects naturally divide, they always prefer where bees have been. When A & Bee kills a colony in a cavity an insecticidal dust is blasted directly inside it with 300 lbs. of pressure.
You should see more activity than usual for about 15 minutes, tapering off dramatically during the remainder of the day.
The following day you may see an incidental one or two, with the following day nice and quiet. This is a good time to seal it up.
After that it won't be long before foraging bees from other colonies discover the unguarded honey. Honey Bees are quick to become honey robbers when opportunity arises, especially in the late Summer & Fall when few flowers are producing nectar.
A & Bee Swarm Removal gives the following simple guarantee on each job performed:
"All products and services, Satisfaction Guaranteed until the following spring."
Those strange terms result from Honey Bees attraction to move in where bees have been.
